How has Minecraft maintained such resilience? For my thesis, I explored the resilience of Minecraft, examining its diverse possibilities—from creative freedom to community-building and therapeutic aspects. I also addressed issues related to its commercial approach and potential for addiction. Playing with my father enabled me to explore its capacity for creating intergenerational connections. This work deepened my interest in video games and their impact on my own practice, eventually leading me to experiment with VR. I began creating a VR game that uses fragments of the real world, scanned through lidar, to allow players to navigate and explore. This approach connects us with the present through shared environments, memories, and stories, providing a performative, theatrical experience. By engaging the body in VR, the game encourages players to reimagine their connection to the present through interaction with their surroundings and community.
